"Ah, Lord GOD!" I said, "I know not how to speak; I am too young." (Jeremiah 1:6) Let your light shine through me, though I know how pitiable I am, I also know how great you are, and how beautiful you've made us all. May I be yours always, and may your will be done. Even when I and others think I am too young. I cry out with Samuel, not knowing who is calling, but saying nonetheless, "Here I am." (1 samuel 3:4). "Speak, for your servant is listening." (1 samuel 3:10)

Hello, my name is Brother Gustavo Lopez, OSJ. I am a religious brother for the Oblates of Saint Jospeh and a seminarian at Saint John's Seminary in Camarillo, CA.
It was not the Sisters of Life who started the "Christ Our Hope, Benedict Our Pope" slogan. I did.
I along with my fellow seminarians from Saint John's were at the very front of the seminarian section when I came up with the chant. My fellow seminarians can verify this. We began the chant and others joined in. We began this chant before the Pope arrived, it had not been used previously during the rally.
When the Pope arrived, the chant was started by some other group within the seminarian section (Sisters of Life?). When we heard the chant, one of my fellow seminarians turned to me and said "They're using your chant!"
It seems that we come to the root of it... The Holy Spirit inspired Br. Lopez, and then reignited and confirmed the beauty and strength of the chant with the Sisters of life.
We showed the Pope's talk at the seminary to the students at ISU, Eduard, and had rave reviews! For me, it was so heartening to see REAL NUNS!!! And the students at Iowa State loved to hear the Pope's encouragement for silence and the Eucharist. Let's just pray that the visit will continue to be felt throughout this country.
I love real nuns... and I've been so blessed to be a coworker of the Sisters of life... not only are they proud to wear the habit, but they have a joy and community life that I've not seen with the habitless variety.
And I trust that God's seed has been planted, and I pray that it is continued in nourishment, and I expect the fruits to bloom abundantly in 3 years with new dedicated vocations of all kinds.
