Forgiveness

"Our Father who art in heaven...
Forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us."

So we all probably realise that this means that how we forgive is tied to how God will forgive us... BUT...

Ever notice that it doesn't say :
"as we forgive those who trespass against us and ask for forgiveness "?

I hadn't really, until just now.
