Photos: Day 17: En route from Berlin to Lille

One of my last views of Berlin was this lucky accident of seeing a US bomber suspended in a descent upon Berlin... I suspect it was part of the Berlin Airlift that supplied the city against the blockade by the "Communists"... But it also seems an odd reminder/perhaps hope that the US will always come to the aid of freedom. (Which was much easier to define in the Coldwar).

This is one of my ideas of what heaven will look like... aisles and aisles of cheap sparkling water :-)

Another tower/spire... they seem quite rampant in Germany.
